The LCO sound has become a staple of modern cinema and contemporary music, heard on award-winning scores and throughout the discographies of artists like Frank Ocean, Radiohead and Taylor Swift. Our history is one of collaboration at the intersection of acoustic tradition and electronic innovation. LCO Producer Strings is the culmination of that journey.
Working with Native Instruments, we’ve created a curated toolkit that captures our signature sound. Its four-layer hybrid engine blends real violins, violas and cellos with synth elements, delivering instant access to expressive contemporary techniques. Designed for emotional depth and sonic versatility, it excels across pop, alternative, hip-hop and cinematic production.
THE SOUNDS OF LCO
LCO producer strings are everything I try to capture in the music I make, whether it be for producing other artists or crafting my own scores, drawing out the strange and beautiful sounds of the orchestra in such an inspiring way, and integrating that immediately with a layer of finely produced synths and noise. There’s such complexity and nuance to every note, allowing you to arrive at a highly artisanal sound with only a minimalist input.

One of the best things about collaborating with any artist is getting to step into each others sound and visual worlds. GAIKA’s art felt both familiar somehow and also like nothing I’d heard before. Some of the harmonies remind me of impressionist art – that’s what inspired those blurry improvised lines at the beginning. But then the track also feels like an epic film score that lends itself so well to playing with all the effects in the Native library. I can’t really place it in any genre, and I love that.
Ellie Consta
I try to meditatively channel or visualise what the sound brings in the moment, and not consciously think at all when composing. In a sense in scoring my own cinematic visions, all I can say about this is the idea of catching something impermanent but life giving, is glorious or ominous in the fixing of an angle, but fragile and haunting, in the practise of viewing or hearing it. This work makes me think of a noh mask – music is the interplay between sounds and images each conjuring the other.
GAIKA
The title is ‘hasu.no.hana’ and it is based on the life cycle of a lotus flower, following its journey emerging from the mud to full bloom. I have added some sub bass from the Moog Voyager and added vocals – everything else is LCO Producer Strings.
