London duo Goldfrapp returned to the Royal Albert Hall for a special one-off show with the LCO.
The show saw a 20-piece orchestra and choir join Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory to perform their sixth studio album, 2013’s Tales of Us, in its entirety, as well as a selection of other Goldfrapp favourites.
A sumptuous body of work, Tales Of Us was two years in the crafting and is their most narrative, cinematic and intimate recording so far. All the album’s songs, bar the haunting Stranger, are named in the first person with a cast list of evocative character sketches.
Support for the performance came from singer-songwriter Mara Carlyle.
